Sometimes called 'Horizontal-Batten', this is a contemporary and sophisticated style of Fencing, using smooth-planed Battens/Boards fixed horizontally (typically 2"x1" or 4"x1") to create sleek lines.

Higher-spec. structures will typically use Hardwoods (such as Balau) or Western Red Cedar (a softwood with an inherent fungicide) to great effect.

However, by the use of Pre-treated Planed-Softwood, elegant structures can still be provided within a smaller budget.
